Jen Widerstrom’s One Day Reset Plan in 5 Phases on Dr. Oz
Did you fall off your diet or healthy living regime over the weekend? Don’t beat yourself up about. Instead, follow Jen Widerstrom’s One Day Reset Plan that she shared during Dr. Oz’s Monday Dieter’s segment. Jen Widerstrom is a fitness trainer who specializes in detoxification and healthy living. She also reveals her 10 minute metabolism workout to boost your metabolism to help speed up weight loss and get your system working as it should be.
1 Day Reset Step One of Monday Dieter’s
Drink 10 to 20 ounces of water when you wake up in the morning.
You will want to hydrate your body to help speed up the detoxification process. After you drink 10-20 ounces of water you will want to fill up a jug of water that you can take with you to work that contains 64 to 100 ounces of water. Jen recommends making a herbal water infusion recipe consisting of water, dandelion root or milk thistle tea. Sip on your herbal water all throughout the day. The dandelion root and/or milk thistle enhanced water helps your liver to detoxify your body.
Spinach and Beet Smoothie – Before you head out the door in the morning, prepare spinach and beet smoothie. These two veggies are also excellent at detoxification and should be part of your One Day Reset Plan.
Phase 2 – Stabilize Your Blood Sugar
Take Two Algae Tablets as an energy boost to help stabilize your blood sugar (helps with cravings) and give you a boost of energy. Algae is a great source of plant based protein. For lunch, eat a protein and healthy fat combo. An example that is shared on the One Day Reset Plan would be hard boiled eggs, leafy greens, avocado, and olive oil. Make yourself a nice salad. The protein and healthy fats will fill you up!
One Day Reset Plan Phase 3
Ok, by now it’s the late afternoon. It’s time to “Grain and Train” as Jen calls it. Have a slice of Ezekiel bread and get your body moving. Your body will quickly burn the slice of Ezekiel bread for energy which will help keep you going through the 10 minute workout. You can view Jen Widerstrom’s 10 Minute Metabolism Boost Video or you can simply do the exercises that she recommends.. Here are the exercises you should do for the 10 Minute Metabolism Boost :
Do these 3 exercises continuously for 10 minutes. It’s called a “Bodyweight Walk Circuit”
- 5 air squats
- Five walking lunges
- Five pushups
After 10 minutes of doing this you should be tired, your heart rate raised and your metabolism boosted.. A high metabolism helps you to lose weight faster!
One Day Reset Phase 4
During dinner you will want to fill up on vegetables and a lean protein. Have 2/3 of your plate devoted to veggies like Brussels sprouts, spinach or kale. Also have 1/3 of your dinners portion as a lean protein like Salmon.
One Day Reset Phase 5
Ok, this is the best (and easiest) part of the One Day Reset shared on today’s Dr. Oz Show. SLEEP! By 9PM begin to wind down (or the time which allows you to get 7 – 9 hours of sleep). After doing these 5 steps you should be feeling recovered from the weekend and ready to conquer the remaining days of the week that lie ahead.
