Joe Cross appeared on Dr. Oz to talk about how he transformed his health by losing over 100 pounds from 60 days of juicing.  In case you aren’t familiar with Joe Cross, he was the man who documented a film that covered his 60 day juice fast and mission to transform his health.  Joe was a borderline diabetic and morbidly obese man who had life threatening high cholesterol and blood pressure levels.  Through juicing Joe was able to lose over 100 lbs and reduce his blood pressure and cholesterol levels drastically.  Today, Joe Cross talked with Dr. Oz about how you can drastically improve your health and lose your weight in just 3 days!  Here are some of the 3 day weekend juice cleanse recipes that he shared on today’s episode :

3 Day Weekend Juicing Guidelines To Follow

After Joe Cross gave his life changing testimony to Dr. Oz, the audience, and viewers at home he talked about the guidelines that you should follow to prepare yourself for a 3 day weekend juice cleanse :

  • First thing in the morning drink 16 oz of hot water with lemon & ginger
  • During the evening drink 1 cup of herbal tea (they suggested chamomile)
  • Eliminate processed foods from your diet. Avoid caffeine, sugar, dairy and meat.  You can still eat lean proteins however.

3 Day Weekend Cleanse Guidelines

After you have followed the “pre-cleanse” guidelines above you are read to do the cleanse.  During your cleanse Joe Cross suggested that you :

  • Drink five juices during the course of the day
  • At dinner time eat 1 lean meal of fruits and veggies

Joe says that this carrot, apple, and ginger juice recipe gives you a boost of energy and is a great way to jump start your day in the morning :

Ingredients :

  • 3 peeled carrots
  • 2 apples
  • 1 inch ginger (fresh)

Mean Green Juice Recipe

Joe explained to Dr. Oz that this was the main juice recipe that he drank while he was on his life and body transforming 60 day cleanse.

    • 6 to 8 kale leaves
    • 1 fresh ginger
    • 4 celery stalks
    • 2 apples
    • 1 cucumber
    • 1/2 lemon

Gazpacho Juice Recipe

Joe said to drink the Gazpacho Juice recipe for lunch during your cleanse

Ingredients :

  • 4 plum tomatoes
  • 1 cucumber
  • 2 celery stalks
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 small red onlion
  • 2 cups of chopped parsley
  • 1 lime

Sunset Juice Blend Recipe

During dinner drink the following juicing recipe :

  • 2 apples
  • 2 beets
  • 1 sweet potato
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 orange

Green Juice & Citrus Recipe

  • 6 to 8 kale leaves
  • 8 swiss chard leaves
  • 6 clementines
  • 1 cucumber

Joe said that juices are the extracted nurients from plants while smoothies contain the entire fruit and also have added ingredients like yogurt, ice cream, etc…

How Much Can You Expect To Lose On A 3 Day Cleanse

While of course the results will vary from person to person, but Dr. Oz did an experiment by asking a two viewers to partake in the 3 day juice cleanse before the May 2, 2015 show was aired.  One woman told Dr. Oz that she lost 4 pounds while the other woman lost 5 pounds!
