Dr. Oz said that there are many unsafe detoxing products on the market.  Many of them can cause irritation in your digestive lining as well as diarrhea and other symptoms.  Pina Logiudice said that most packaged teatox formulas contain senna leaf (natural laxitive) that your body can become dependent on in a relatively short period of time.  Dr. Oz also said that you will save a lot of money doing the teatox plan at home with your own teas.

Replace Morning Coffee With Dandelion Tea

Dandelion tea is beneficial for your liver which will help speed up the detoxification process in your body.  It also improves your digestion and you will notice an improvement in your skin.  Plus on top of all of those wonderful benefits your blood pressure will lower!  Some don’t like the taste of dandelion tea.  Dr. Oz suggests adding some raw honey to the tea if you don’t like the taste.

Eat A Well Balanced Breakfast

Try to eat a breakfast that is protein based.  Dr. Logiudice made the suggestion of 2 eggs, avocado slices on a almond flour tortilla.  If you don’t like eggs, an oatmeal breakfast with cinnamon, blueberries, and a quarter cup of almonds woul be a good choice.

Eat Soup or Stew for Lunch

Lunch Suggestion Tip – Heat a healthy soup or stew that is is full of nutrition.  A vegetable stew or bean based soup would be two good suggestions.

After lunch have some Fennel Seed Ginger Tea

Fennel Seed Ginger Tea is great for digestion and helps to reduce belly bloat.

Directions to make Fennel Seed Ginger Tea at home :

  • Infuse 1/2 teaspoons of crushed fennel seeds, a tsp of ginger (freshly chopped is the best) and a 1 tsp of honey in boiling water.  You can have fennel seed ginger tea twice a day.

Drink Oolong Tea Between Lunch and Dinner

Oolong tea is loaded with antioxidants and has a little caffeine to give you an afternoon boost.

Tip : Be sure to drink the Oolong tea before 6 PM so the caffeine doesn’t keep you up at night..  Also try adding a cinnamon stick to the Oolong tea for extra flavor.

Have a low carb dinner like a “Cleansing Salad”

Dr. Oz and Pina Logiudice recommends eliminated carbs for dinner while on the 5 Day Detox Plan for belly bloat. A chicken salad with a base of cabbage leaves or spinach is a suggestion that they recommended but you get the idea.  Add healthy low carb vegetable toppings to the salad..  Add some asparagus or celery to give an extra “crunch”. Protein options would be chicken or fish.  Add a sprinkle of nuts to the top of the salad and dress with olive oil.

Have Some Milk Thistle Tea Before Bed

Milk thistle tea is a great liver detoxifier.  It also helps aid the gallbladder and kidneys.  Enjoy two cups of milk thistle each day while on the 5 day teatox plan that Dr. Oz shared today on May 17, 2017.

  • Drink Oolong Tea twice per day
  • Eat one cup of probiotics (kefir, kimchi, Greek yogurt, sauerkraut)
