Dr. Oz started a new weekly segment on his show called “Monday Dieter’s” where he reveals new strategies to lose weight, belly bloat, and detox the body.  On today’s show Dr. Oz talked about his 7 Day Bloat Diet for a flat belly in just 1 week!  This isn’t a long term diet meant to lose weight, it’s more of a diet to help you rid yourself of your bloating problem and to help you jeans fit again like they used to.  The Day Day Flat Belly / Bloat Diet is a great way to leapfrog into a long term weight loss plan because once you get rid of the bloat you can notice the TRUE weight loss gains that are taking place that were once hidden by water retention (otherwise known to as belly bloat!)

Dr. Oz 7  Day Bloat Diet for Flat Belly with Maya Feller

Maya Feller explained how certain foods, which she called (FODMAPS…. <<Acronym for really long scientific terms that you don’t need to know) cause stomach bloating.  You can’t have a flat belly if your bloated so by limiting foods that cause bloat you can reach your goals just in time for summer.

Eliminate “FODMAP” Foods

FODMAP stands for :

  • F – Fermentable
  • O – Oligosaccharides
  • D – Disaccharides
  • M – Monosaccharides
  • A – And
  • P – Polyols

Do not eat the following during the 7 day Bloat Diet for a Flat Belly

Do not eat high fructose corn syrup – This includes the otherwise healthy honey and chocolate, because they can cause belly blota.

Do not eat dairy – Foods to include in this list are milk, coconut milk, soft cheese, yogurt and ice cream.

Veggies that cause bloat – Vegetables on this list are healthy, but during the 7 day bloat diet you shouldn’t have onions, garlic, beets, broccoli, asparagus, Brussels sprrouts, mushrooms, cabbage and cauliflower.

Do not eat bread – This includes wheat and rye bread.  Also do not eat pasta or rice.

Do not eat the “sweet” fruits – Don’t eat fruits with high sugar content like apples, mangos, pears and watermelon… If the fruit is sweet, then stay away during the 7 day bloat diet.
