Have you ever experienced acid reflux? It is a condition that is quite common and can result in serious consequences if it goes untreated for too long or you avoid the condition altogether. What Is Acid Reflux?
Most people have heard of acid reflux and many people suffer from this condition. On today’s show Dr. Oz spoke with Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas (from the music group T-L-C) on to the show to talk about her struggles with acid reflux and how she keeps it under control. Dr. Oz explained to Rozonda and the viewers that when people have acid reflux the sphincter muscle in a person’s esophagus isn’t functioning properly. This allows acid to come up from the stomach into the esophagus.

It is important to know what foods you should avoid and what remedies that you can do to help reduce or even eliminate acid reflux from causing harm to you or your loved ones. Here are the foods that Dr. Oz said that you should avoid if acid reflux is a problem to you :

Remedies For Acid Reflux
One way in which Dr. Oz said that you can relieve acid reflux is by propping your head up when you sleep. He suggested adding more pillows while you sleep to keep your head propped up. However, many people can’t sleep this way or they will shed the pillows during their sleep. Here are some other acid reflux remedies that really do work!
- Place a few books underneath the head of the mattress so you are raised up
- Eating oatmeal will help to sooth your stomach
Apple Cider Vinegar remedy – Mix one half cup of ACV (apple cider vinegar) with 1/2 cup of water and drink once every day.
