So what is Metabolic Syndrome? Dr. Oz said that there are three symptoms of Metabolic Syndrome that you should be aware of, and all three symptoms should have you concerned :

Dr Oz : Diet Soda and Insulin Resistance
Dr. Oz said something that was totally new to me… He said that we have taste buds all throughout our bodies rather than just the mouth. He said that there are chemicals in diet soft drinks that cause your body to release insulin and create insulin resistance.
While you are drinking diet soda’s your brain knows that it isn’t actually receiving real sugar. He said that the insulin resistance and weight gain is combination that he referred to as “double whammy”.
So how much artificial sweeteners can lead to insulin resistance, high blood pressure, weight gain, and metabolic syndrome? Dr. Oz said that just one diet soda can put you at risk for Metabolic Syndrome.
Artificial Sweeteners Cause Cancer?
You may have heard rumors that artificial sweeteners cause cancer.. Dr. Oz said that the answer is no and that the research doesn’t support a conclusion on this question.
However, there are still cancer risks associated with artificial sweeteners. This is because excess belly fat can raise your risk for some cancers like Pancreatic, Colon, Endometrial, and Breast cancers.
