Today Dr. Oz talked about the best non-dairy  milk choices that are out there and the benefits that each brings to the table.  Many people can’t drink dairy (or choose not to) but would love to receive some of the positive nutritional benefits that it has.  Listed below are the benefits that Dr. Oz spoke about on today’s (November 22, 2013) episode :

Almond Milk Contains Twice The Calcium As Cows Milk

Dr. Oz is a big fan of Almond Milk because it is wonderful for the skin and has more calcium than any other non dairy milk.  Almond milk is also very high in Vitamin E.

Soy Milk Boosts Your Metabolism

Dr. Oz said that soy milk tastes a little sweeter than cows milk.  He said that it helps to boost your metabolism because it is high in protein.

Coconut Milk Improves Your Energy Levels

Coconut helps to give you an energy boost.  Dr. Oz said that the fats that it contains are easily broken down by the body.  Coconut milk will fill you up while giving you energy at the same time.

Flax Milk Protects Your Brain

Flax Milk is a natural source of Omega-3s.  Dr. Oz said that most people do not consume enough Omega-3’s (which help to protect the brain).

The capsaicin in Cayenne pepper is a great energy booster.  Dietician, Holly Granger recommended to Dr. Oz and the viewers to try adding cayenne pepper into dark hot chocolate or adding it to trail mix when your having a snack.
