Dr. Oz and Tieraona Low Dog Share “Natural Healers” – Butterbur Migraine Headache Prevention

Tired of reaching for the prescription medications to remedy a symptom you are feeling, while fully knowing of the side effects that accompany them?  On today’s, April 8, 2014 episode Dr. Oz invited Tieraona Low Dog on to the show to talk about their favorite “Natural Healers.”  Remedies for every day common complaints that are truly effective.  During this segment they talk about how Butterbur supplements are effective at preventing migraines, chamomile tea will reduce anxiety, sleep aid remedies, and more.  Listed below are the summaries along with their remedy of common ailments that were featured on today’s 4-08-2014 episode :

Butterbur Supplements Prevent Migraines

Prescription medications for pain, sleeping problems, etc… can be effective but they also have unwanted side effects that can cause problems now and even more so in the future.  Dr. Low Dog says that there are better natural alternative treatments for common every day ailments with fewer side effects.  Here are the recommendations that were given :

Migraines Remedy and Dosage : Take a 75 MG Buttterbur supplement for migraine headache prevention twice a day.  Look at the labeling and try to find one that says PA-Free.

AnxietyChamomile Tea or Chamomile Supplements are effective at reducing anxiety and calming your nerves.  Dosage : Take 1,000 MG if your taking a supplement or drink 2-3 cups of chamomile tea each day.

Chronic PainSAMe Supplements can help to reduce pain as much as Ibuprofen.  Start out by taking 200MG of SAMe.  If that isn’t strong enough you can work up to 1,200 MG per day.  SAMe supplements also have the added benefit of being able to alleviate depression!

Sleeping problems – Dr. Tieraona Low Dog said that a study was done that has shown that a combination of Valerian Root, Hops, and Passion Flower help you to sleep as well as Ambien, but without the unwanted side effects.

Dosage : Look on the labeling and check for 300 MG of Valerian Extract, 80-100 MG of Passion Flower, and 30-50 MG Hops extract.  Be aware that it can take up to 2 weeks until you see the full benefit for this all natural sleep aid.
