Chocolate Cake Immunity Boosting Recipe

The thought of never getting sick again while enjoying your favorite cheat food (like chocolate cake) sounds too good to be true!  According to Dr. Fuhrman food should be treated like medicine and this is his favorite “cheat” recipe that contains ingredients that will boost your body’s natural immunities to ward off sickness and disease.  Be sure to grab a pen and paper to write this recipe down (or bookmark this page) because this is one delicious dessert recipe that is not only delicious it is also nutritious!

Chocolate Cake Immunity Ingredients :

    • 1 2/3 cups of whole wheat pastry flour
    • 3 1/2 cups of divided/pitted dates
    • 1 cups of applesauce (unsweetened)
    • 1 cup of shredded and raw beets
    • 3/4 cups of shredded raw carrots
    • 1/2 cup of shredded zucchini (raw)
    • 1 cup of chopped walnuts
    • 1 cup of pineapple chunks in it’s own natural juices (no sugar added)
    • 1 banana
    • 3 tbsp of natural cocoa powder
    • 1/2 cup of currants
    • 3 tsp baking soda
    • 1 1/2 cups water
    • 2 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp baking powder

Chocolate Nut Icing Ingredients :

    • 1 cup raw macadamia nuts and/or cashews
    • 2/3 cups of dates (pitted)
    • 1 cup of almond milk, hemp, or vanilla soy
    • 1/3 cup of brazil nuts (you can alternately use hazelnuts)
    • 2 tbsp cocoa powder

1 tsp vanilla extract

Preparation Directions :

  • Set the oven to 350 degrees and allow to preheat
  • In a small bowl combine the whole wheat pastry flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Mix thouroughly
  • Using a blender mix pineapple chunks, banana, applesauce, and 3 cups of dates.  Cut the remaining dates (half cup) into quarter inch pieces
  • Mix the chopped dates, zucchini, beets, cocoa powder, carrots, currants, flour mixture, walnuts, and vanilla in a large bowl.  Add in the date, pineapple, banana, applesause mixture that you blended and mix thoroughly.
  • Spread out the blended mixture into a 9 by 13 inch nonstick baking pan
  • Cook for 1 hour and allow to cool

How to make the chocolate icing :

Mix the chocolate nut icing ingredients together thoroughly until it is creamy.  After the cake has cooled spread the chocolate cake icing.  Serve and enjoy a chocolate cake that your family will love and you will appreciate the fact that you are giving them a nutritious treat that will help to boost their immune system!Are you unable to watch Dr. Oz as frequently as you would like?
