Despite so many people opting to get a flu vaccine hospital rooms are full of patients looking for some kind of help. During this segment on today’s show Dr. Oz talks about his “Flu Prevention Kit” and how Elderberry Tea can cure the flu and be as effective as prescription “Tamiflu” and reducing the duration of flu symptoms. He said that the vast majority of patients don’t get in to see the doctor in time for Tamiflu to be effective so a combination of Elderberry Tea, and taking preventive measures could be your best line of defense against the flu.

The flu virus can be spread when a person sneezes very quickly. Dr. Oz said that when you sneeze you can spread the flu by up to 6 feet away. He said that you should always try to cough or sneeze into the crease of your elbow when you are sick. He said coughs can last well over two weeks so don’t panic when you are still coughing two weeks later.
Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen – Dr. Oz said that your body metabolizes Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen differently so you should alternate doses between the two to not put too much strain on your kidneys or liver.
Hand Sanitizer – Sanitizer kills the flu virus so keeping your hands clean can lower your risk of catching (or spreading) the flu. Dr. Oz said to look for a sanitizer that contains 60 percent alcohol. You should also supervise small children (under the age of 6) when handling hand sanitizers.
Can You Cure The Flu With Elderberry Tea?
Dr. Oz said that Elderberry Tea will shorten the duration of the flu in a similar way that Tamiflu shortens the lifespan of the flu. Dr. Oz said that most people don’t get prescribed Tamiflu in time so Elderberry Tea is a great way to shorten timespan that you have to suffer flu like symptoms. Dr. Oz recommends drinking 4-6 cups of Elderberry Tea each day when you are suffering from the flu.
