Dr Oz DIY Beauty Remedies – Coffee Ground Scrub, Natural Facial Peel and Hair Conditioners
During the final segment of today’s (January 7) show Dr. Oz invited a member from the audience to help him demonstrate DIY (Do it yourself) natural beauty remedies that can save you money from the spa or salon and are fun to do in the comfort of your home.
Take The Skin Pinch Test To See If You Are Dehydrated
Pinch a small piece of skin on the back of your hand and hold it for two to three seconds. After you let go, it should snap back into place very quickly. If it doesn’t snap right back it means that you are likely dehydrated and you should be drinking more water throughout the course of the day.
How Much Water Do You Really Need To Be Drinking Each Day?
You have likely heard that drinking water is good for you, but do you know why? Dr. Oz said that it is helpful in the digestion process, weightloss, and regulates your body temperature. He even said that your mood is affected by how much water you consumer. Are you getting enough water each day? Dr. Oz said that people lose on average of 11 cups per day from urination, bowel movements, and sweat. Stay hydrated to help keep your body functioning as it should.
Pineapple, Papaya, and Honey Facial Peel
Spas are very relaxing but they can also be costly as well. An alternative to beauty salon or spa treatments is to try a DIY facial peel. Save yourself time and money while nourishing your skin. The facial peel below is all natural, effective, and costs less than 10 bucks!
- 3 tbsp of pineapple
- 3 tbsp of papaya
- 1 tsp of honey
Mix the ingredients above and then apply the peel to your face. Leave on for 10 minutes before washing.
Ground Coffee Body Scrub
Here is a do it yourself body scrub that costs less than seven dollars and it works!
- 1 cup of coconut oil
- 1 cup of coffee grounds
- 1/2 cup sugar
Mix all of the body scrub ingredients noted above and run on to your skin. Massage the coffee ground mixture on to your skin and leave on for 10 minutes. It is best to do this scrub in the tub so you can shower it off afterwards so there is no mess.
DIY Honey and Yogurt Hair Conditioner
If you have ever been to the salon to have your hair treated you know how the costs can quickly escalate. Here is an all natural honey and yogurt treatment that you can do in the comfort of your home. Simply mix 1/2 honey with 1/2 yogurt and mix. Apply the all natural conditioner to your hair. Be sure to start at the roots and work to the ends. Leave the conditioner in for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water. Then rinse with cool water. After that, wash and condition your hair as you normally would. Try it and see how it compares to a professional treatment!
