Dr. Oz Talks About How Feng Shui Can Improve Your Sleep
Dr. Oz invited Ariel Joseph Towne on to the show to talk about how Feng Shui can help to clean out your “inner house” to help you sleep. You can make just a few simple changes to the sleeping space in your bedroom to promote peaceful and restful sleep (without the use of any over the counter or prescription drugs!).
What Is Feng Shui?
Feng Shui was developed over 3,000 years ago which originated in China. Feng Shui is all about balancing the energies of any given space to improve health, wellness, and good fortune. Feng means “wind” and “Shui” means water.
Improve Your Feng Shui & Sleep With Himalayan Rock Salt and Beeswax Candles
Ariel Joseph Town explained to Dr. Oz that Feng Shui can greatly improve your sleep beginning with the placement of your bed.
Ariel Joseph Towne said that Feng Shui comes from the Chinese philosophy of “living as one with nature”. Ariel says that the space in your home should be presented in a way that promotes comfort and relaxation. These ideas should begin with a feeling that you have in your gut as to how you present your personal space. When you use Feng Shui as a fundamental way of getting more restful sleep you should position your bed to where your back will not be exposed. Ariel said that one good way to think about Feng Shui is to imagine yourself sitting in are restaurant with you back facing the door. Many people feel vulnerable and anxious when you can’t see what is going on behind you. The same goes for your bedroom. Make sure your bed is positioned to where the head of the bed is against the wall and facing the doorway that comes in to your bedroom.
Meditate Before You Go To Sleep At Night
Using meditation can help to improve your Feng Shui. Ariel Towne made the suggestion of using his “let go” technique to improve your sleep at night.
Try improving your Feng Shui by placing the bed in the “command” position. Be sure that your bed is facing any doors or windows. This takes away the tension of that someone may be entering the room without your knowledge. Doing this simple step will immediately make you feel safer when you are trying to sleep and at your most vulnerable. Ariel said that if your room is not spacious enough to angle your bed properly decorating your room in the color red can make you feel safer. He suggested using red sheets, a red duvet, and maybe placing some red carpet on the floor.
Release Negative Ions With A Himalayan Rock Salt Lamp
Ariel suggested to Dr. Oz that another way in which you can feel like your at one with nature is to use restorative items (like Himalayan Rock Salt Lamps) that release negative ions. Ariel said that when you heat up a Himalayan Rock Salt Lamp releases negative ions.
Purify The Air With Beeswax Candles – Ariel said that you can naturally purify the air by using beeswax candles that release negative ions.How To Use Inner Feng Shui To Clean The Clutter In Your MindWhen you mind is cluttered it is more difficult to fall asleep at night. Ariel joseph Towne explained to Dr. Oz that cleaning the clutter in your mind is an essential way to promote more peaceful sleep. Ariel suggests writing in a journal or taking a long bath to help clean out the clutter and rambling thoughts in your mind. A clean inner house will make sleep occur naturally and in a healthy way.
Letting Go Meditation Method
Ariel Joseph Towne recommends using the words “Let Go” when you meditate. When you inhale say (or think to yourself) “Let” and as you slowly exhale say the word “Go”. A meditation technique as simple as this can help to reduce your stress and help you to fall asleep easier.
