Dr. Oz said that green bananas have resistant starches in them.  They will satiate you for a long time and ward off cravings throughout the day.  He said the health benefits are that green bananas will also help you lower your risk for heart disease and diabetes.

How Should You Buy Green Bananas At The Grocery Store?

Dr. Oz said that you should pick out the green bananas that are mostly green with just a little bit of yellow.  He said that the more yellow the banana is, the more sure that it has. He said that you should pick out the type of green bananas that are slightly difficult to peel.  So, avoid the yellow ones and stick with the bananas that are mostly green if you are wanting to trim your belly.

Green Banana Smoothie Recipe

Dr. Oz said that you should eat two green bananas a week.  Here is the smoothie recipe that he shared on today’s (Jan. 8th) episode.

Step #1 Boil a green banana and them mash it like you would a potato

  • 1 green banana
  • 1 cup of almond milk
  • 3 pitted dates
  • Juice from 1/2 of a lime
