Green Alkaline Shake / Smoothie Recipe

Foods that are alkaline counteract acid in your system.  If you suffer from acid reflux there is a good chance that your body is too acidic.  Listed below is the Green Alkaline smoothie containing potent alkaline foods.  For optimal results replace two meals each day with the Green Alkaline Smoothie / Shake :

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup of coconut water
  • 3 Kale leaves
  • 1 inch piece of ginger root
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1/2 cup of  mango pieces
  • Ice

Purple Alkaline Smoothie Recipe

The Purple Alkaline shake contain foods that support healthy digestion.  They are loaded with enzymes and antioxidants that are alkaline to your body.  They lower acidic levels in your system and will rid your body of acid reflux problems.  Dr. Oz suggests to replace to drink this smoothie in place of 1 meal each day.


  • 1 cup light coconut milk
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 handful of spinach leaves
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon of raw honey


1. Mix the ingredients listed above and enjoy this easy to make purple smoothie recipe.

Dr. Oz 28 Day Acid Reflux Plan

Acid Reflux can be more than just an irritating problem.  It can become serious from the acid coming up through your esophagus and causing damage to the lining in your throat.  That is why Dr. Oz’s 28 Day Acid Reflux Detox is so important if you (or someone you love) has acid reflux.

Eliminate Acid Reflux Containing Foods

Foods like coffee, chocolate, french fries, canned foods, etc.. can cause acid reflux. Eliminate them by drinking alkaline water and replace them with alkaline foods.

7 and 7 Meal Rule

Eat all three of our meals between 7AM and 7:30P with a snack in between each meal.  Having a small snack in between meals can help keep your cravings away keep you from overeating during your mail meals, which can trigger acid reflux.

Eat One LB of Veggies Each Day

At first you may think, “One lb’s of vegetables is too much!”..  But, it’s really not.  Dr. Aviv explained to Dr. Oz and the audience that one lb of vegetables translates to approximately 5 medium sized carrots, 5 cups of fresh spinach leaves, or four handfuls of string beans.  He noted that raw vegetables are better.  Cooked veggies can have 60 to 70 percent less nutrients than uncooked veggies.

Use Gray or “Celtic Salt”

This type of salt still has minerals, electrolytes and digestive enzymes.

Bake or Steam Your Foods

Frying foods can trigger acid reflux..  Avoid this during the 28 Day Acid Reflux Detox Plan.
Swap in Asefetida and Fennel in place of garlic and onions.  Asafetids (you may also find it spelled as asafoetida) and fennel aids your digestion.  I had never heard of Asafetida before.  You should be sure to cook the asefetida instead of eating the spice raw.  Fennel has a black licorice taste when it’s raw, but when you cook fennel, it mimics an onion taste.  Sounds interesting, I will have to try this!
