Dr. Oz invited on a nutritionist named Monica Reinagel to talk about oils that are beneficial towards your health and what you should look for when you are buying a heart healthy oil. She said that you should make sure that the oil is either cold pressed or expeller pressed. It should contain this information on the label. You should look for expeller or cold pressed oils because these are made without heat and also don’t have any chemical solvents which can reduce the health benefits that the oils provide.
Hemp Seed Oil Is Good For Your Heart
Hemp Seed Oil is full of antioxidants and Omega-3 fatty acids. He said that it has a nutty flavor and is heart healthy because hemp seed oil can help to reverse the hardening of your arteries. It also helps to lower your blood pressure.
Healthy Butter Recipe Containing Hemp Seed Oil
Blend 1 stick of butter with 1/2 cup of hemp seed oil. You won’t lose the taste of butter but you will be adding heart healthy Omega 3’s as well as powerful antioxidants. You will be reducing the amount of saturated fat by 50%!! It will also add a subtle nutty flavor that is delicious.
Improve Your Vision With Avocado Oil
Dr Oz said that avocado oil is an anti-aging food that can help to improve your vision and offer you protection from macular age related degeneration. He said that you substitute avocado oil in any of your recipes that call for olive oil (such as salad dressings for instance). Avocado oil helps to improve your body’s ability to absorb the nutrients from the veggies that you eat.
Relieve Your IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) With Peppermint Oil
Peppermint is a lot more beneficial than just adding flavor to your toothpaste. Peppermint oil is an anti-aging oil that improves your digestion system and can give you relieve from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).
Dr. Oz cautioned that using too much peppermint oil can give you heartburn so you should use it by the drop and don’t add too much.
