Dr. Oz invited Paul McKenna on to the show to talk about how you can curb your cravings and emotional eating issues by using hypnosis and making some simple behavioral changes. During this segment Peter talks about simple tips and exercises that you can do to help you lose weight quickly and easily.
Eat Blindfolded To Lose Weight
Paul McKenna explained to Dr. Oz that people who struggle with their weight often spend all day thinking about food.. When it’s time for their meal they eat much too fast. You will eat many more calories if your shoveling in your food while you are hungry. He suggested eating blindfolded. This will teach you to slow down while eating and you will learn that you become full without consuming nearly as many calories. After you have learned to eat slower you will quickly realize the benefits. Your brain will get the signal from your stomach that you are full while taking in less food. Eating slower is one of the easiest tips that you can do to help you lose weight.
Associate Exercise With Pleasure
If you link pleasure with exercise you will be much more likely to live an active lifestyle. He did an experiment with Dr. Oz’s audience. He guided the audience by asking them to envision a scenario that brings them happiness.. Then he asked the participants to press their thumb and middle finger together. Next, he asked the audience to switch their thoughts to exercise and to envision doing just a little bit more with each passing day. Doing this simple self hypnosis trick will help to give you the motivation and desire to exercise.
Dr Oz: Stop Sabotaging Your Weight Loss
Many people sabotage themselves where their weight loss is concerned. Peter McKenna explained that this is often the case when a person loses a lot of weight quickly because they suddenly feel like they do not have to work as hard to keep losing weight to reach their goal.
This leads to many saboteurs in your life that will fight to keep you from reaching that goal. Peter explained that you need to find balance because in many ways the feeling of wanting to look and feel better and the saboteur are both there to help you reach your goal. Often times the saboteur is just a reminder that it is okay to take things more slowly, so that you can have long term success.
