Who in the world thought that they could enjoy chocolate cake, fried chicken, and pancakes while maintaining a diet plan, losing weight, and feeling great all at the same time??  Dr. Oz talks about new low carb flours that allow you to do just that!  You can now prepare some of your favorite recipes that used to be off limits, until now…  Instead of using processed white flour Dr. Oz & Jorge Cruise share these delicious low carb alternative recipes to enjoy without the guile.

Use Coconut Flour As Your Breading

Instead of using your traditional breading that you coat your chicken with, consider using coconut flour breading..  Jorge Cruise gives the suggestion that you use 1/4 cup of coconut flour in place of every cup of regular flour while you are cooking.

Coconut Flour Fried Chicken & Tomatoes Recipe

Ingredients :

  • 1/4 cup of coconut flour
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 coconut oil

These ingredients will provide a healthier alternative to the traditional fried chicken recipes that you may normally make.

Almont Flour Two Minute Chocolate Cake Recipe

Just because a recipe may be lacking the carbohydrates that you are used to doesn’t mean that you have to be sacrificing any taste.  Jorge Cruise shared this delicious chocolate cake recipe that you can make in only two minutes.  This chocolate cake recipe features an almond flour that is actually good for you!  Enjoy a delicious treat while losing weight at the same time..  Purely a win / win situation.

Ingredients :

  • 1/2 cup of almond flour
  • 1/4 cup truvia baking blend
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder (choose the unsweeetened cocoa powder)
  • 2 tbsp half and half
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp baking powder

Preparation Directions :  Mix up all the ingredients noted above and blend until mixed thoroughly and moistened.  Pour one quarter of the blen into a mug and microwave for 2 minutes.  Repeat this process with the rest of batter that you prepared to enjoy later.

Almond Butter Flaxseed Pancakes

Jorge Cruise wasn’t done just yet..  Here is a healthier alternative almont butter with flaxseed pancakes recipe that he shared on the show :

  • 1 cup of almond milk
  • 1/2 cup of flaxseed flour (yes, low carb!)
  • 4 egg whites
  • 2 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 tsp baking powder
