A Virus Similar To Polio Is Paralyzing Children In California

Polio may quite possibly be the most feared disease that this country has ever seen.  One of the greatest breakthroughs in medicine is when the polio vaccine was first developed by Jonas Salk..  However, there is a new “Polio-Like” virus that has Dr. Oz and the medical community worried.  This is a new disease and doctors are unsure of how to treat it.

Dr. Thornton explained that it’s hard to diagnose in the early stages because it simply starts out as a cold.  After just a few days it can lead to permanent paralysis.  The medical community is now working diligently to find out the cause of this new disease putting our children at risk.
