Fall is a beautiful time of the year with the leaves changing and the cool autumn weather.  However, with the changing of the season is also a signal that the flu season is on it’s way.  Today, Dr. Oz did a segment with Dr. John La Puma to talk about three immune boosting ingredients that can help you to avoid the dreaded flu.  Listed below are the pumpkin soup, puree, and Tahini veggie dip recipes that they shared on today’s show.

Tahini Paste Immunity Booster

Tahini is an immunity booster that is made from sesame seeds.  It is rich in magnesium and zinc.  It also helps to activate white blood cells.  Tahini paste has a similar consistency as peanut butter.

Tahini Veggie Dip Recipe

I love veggie dip and am really curious to find out what Tahini dip tastes like. Dr. La Puma said that it has a very high nutrient density.

Tahini Veggie Dip Ingredients

  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 cup of yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon of Tahini
  • Lemon juice

  • Nice and easy directions.  Simply mix all the ingredients above until you reach a nice consistency.

Chemical In Black Pepper Helps To Absorb Nutrients

There is an ingredient in black pepper called “Piperine” that helps you to absorb the nutrients that other spices contain.  Try mixing black pepper with turmeric to improve your joint health.. This combination will also lower your risk of getting Alzheimers disease.

Dr Oz : Leaf Oregano Versus Ground Oregano

Leaf Oregano is more than just a pizza garnish.  There was a study done at Cornell University that found that leaf oregano (not ground oregano) kills bacteria when you chew it.  The study found that leaf oregano killed 30 different kinds of germs and has anti-inflammatory properties.
