Coconut oil can actually help your body burn fat.  Dr. Oz pointed out that it is used in many over the counter products for the skin and hair.  It is also very healthy when taken internally and can actually help you to lose weight!  Coconut oil can be used as a healthy alternative to butter.  You can cook with it or even spread it on a piece of whole wheat toast!  You can use coconut oil in all sorts of recipes in place of butter or oils that aren’t as healthy.

Coconut Oil Boosts Your Energy and Metabolism

Coconut oil has several important benefits that butter does not offer.  First of all, it helps to control your appetite.  When you consume coconut oil your stomach sends signals to your brain that your appetite has been satisfied.

Coconut oil is a fat that is broken down by your body at a much faster rate than most fats.  Dr. Oz said that it goes to your liver where it is converted into energy.  Since it is being used by your body for energy your body will be less likely to store it as fat.

How Much Olive Oil Should You Take?
