Dr. Oz Talks Talks About “Top Health Must Haves” & White Vinegar Uses

Today Dr. Oz did a segment that covered Consumer Reports “must haves” that all households should have on hand.  Dr. Oz talks about the many uses of white vinegar, meat thermometers, shea butter, and what sleeping position can help to reduce wrinkles!

Must Haves To Have In Your Household (From Consumer Reports)

1oo Percent Shea Butter – Gayle Williams from Consumer Reports spoke with Dr. Oz about how Shea butter can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and help to heal dry & cracked skin.  Dr. Oz said that shea butter can help to reduce inflammation and can protect your skin from further damage.  Shea butter is also relatively inexpensive.  You can find it in your local drugstore for approximately 10 dollars.

Cigarette Rolling Papers – Why in the world would cigarette rolling papers be on Dr. Oz for the top “Must Haved” health products in your household?  Gayle Williams said that cigarette rolling papers are an excellent way to stop bleeding.  She said that you can find rolling papers in stores that sell tobacco items.

Uses For Distilled White Vinegar – White vinegar can be used as a remedy for itching cause from insect bites.  You can also use white vinegar as a household cleaner.

Meat Thermometer – Meat that isn’t cooked thoroughly can make you sick.  Every household should have a meat thermometer to make sure your meals are cooked thoroughly enough.  Roasts and steaks should be cooked to 145 degrees.  Poultry should be cooked to 165 degrees.  Ground beef should be cooked to 160 degrees.

The Sleeping Position That Can Reduce Your Wrinkles

Dr. Oz talked to Carol Ash about sleep positions and what they can mean about your health :

Side Sleeping Position – This sleeping position can cause hip and shoulder problems.  Carol Ash also said that side sleepers often have upper respiratory issues like seasonal allergies.  If you are a side sleeper Carol suggested sleeping with a small pillow between your legs to support your alignment.  You should also sleep with a thick pillow between the mattress and your neck for support.
Back sleeper – According to Carol Ash, the best sleeping position for comfort and alignment is the “back sleeper”.  She said that you will sleep better and the position also has the added benefit of reducing the appearance of your wrinkles!
