The flu season has arrived once again.  Are you taking precautions to help ward off the cold and flu bug?  Today Dr. Oz talked about his flu prevention checklist and what what supplements can help to boost your immunity and prevent or shorten the lifespan of the flu, sore throat, and the common cold.  Dr. Oz called the supplements listed below as his “Sickness Prevention Pack”.  Give your body that little boost it needs to help keep you and your family as healthy as possible this winter.

Buckwheat Honey – Natural Immunity Booster

Honey is not only a delicious treat that is especially delightful during the cold winter months.  It is also full of antioxidants that can help keep your immunity working at optimal levels.  Dr. Tasneem Bhatia was a guest on today’s Dr. Oz and she recommends taking 1 to 2 teaspoons every day.  You can decide how you want to consume the honey.  Try adding it to your warm tea in the morning or maybe just have a spoonful as a delicious way to start out your day.

NAC (N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine) and Vitamin D3 Supplements

NAC – Dr. Oz has spoken of NAC many times on his show.  Dr. Bhatia said that NAC is a powerful antioxidant that you can take all throughout the winter season to keep your immune system healthy.

Vitamin D3 – Your vitamin D levels drop throughout the winter cold and flu season.  Keep your immune defenses strong by taking 2000 IU of Vitamin D3 each day may help to prevent the flu virus from taking hold in your body.
